Settling into Nursery

We operate an open-door policy, you can call into the nursery to look around at a time that suits you. On your initial visit to our nursery we offer a show around visit, this gives you an opportunity to view our setting and find out our daily routines, activities and learning opportunities we offer and a chance to meet our team. This visit also provides time to ask any questions about our nursery and make an informed decision whether we are right for you and your child. 

At the first settling in session, we invite you to stay with your child so that they can explore their new environment and meet their key worker who will care for them, whilst still having a familiar face nearby. As your child becomes more comfortable in the nursery, you will be able to leave your child for short periods of time to build their confidence ready for a full session at nursery. Your settling in sessions will enable staff to become familiar with your child, we will also ask you to complete an All about me booklet to give us further information of your child’s routine and interests. These sessions also enable you to familiarise yourselves with the nursery and the staff to build a strong parent partnership

Once your child is settled and is willing to separate from parents/carers with ease we can fully begin your child’s journey with us at Thatto Heath Playdays.
