Curriculum
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) at nursery. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework supports an integrated approach to early learning and care. It gives all professionals a set of common principles and commitments to deliver quality early education and childcare experiences to all children. We use the 7 areas of development in our planning and ensure we are meeting the children’s needs so that they can play and learn happily in ways which will help them develop skills and knowledge across all the areas of learning.
Through observing children at play we can see how they are learning, and we plan for their individual needs to nurture their potential. The planning and observation system in place actively encourages your child’s interests, offering them further opportunities to explore in the nursery environment. We track your child’s progress continuously. Observations and pictures of your child’s progress are recorded in the learning journey on our online app, Capture. We aim to work in partnership with home, sharing parental knowledge and expertise and providing opportunities for recording progress together through each child’s learning journey. The nursery will hold regular parents’ evenings to provide you with the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress.
